Meet our expert team

World Primate Safaris uses local guides wherever possible in each destination that we offer. We belive that local guides offer that little bit more that can make the difference between a good safari and a great safari. For ease of reference we have listed details of some of our guides below:

Livingstone Kalema - one of the country’s top birding guides, and has a personality that clients immediately appreciate and warm to. He has led many VIP and birding groups over the last 6 years with us and in that time has proven to be an invaluable ambassador both for Uganda and for our company. A talented baritone, Livingstone often performs with his local gospel choir, and if you are lucky, you may catch early-morning snatches of his voice as he prepares for your days activities.

Elias Kaboggoza - a top bird guide, is renowned within the company and the industry as a man to depend on when the going gets tough. Hugely experienced in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda, Elias is our longest serving guide. A true professional, and passionate about his work as a naturalist, Elias often acts as head guide for groups that involve more than one vehicle. Elias hails from Mbarara, Uganda’s famed “land of milk and honey”, and he possesses an intimate knowledge of the history of both his home area and East Africa at large.

Joseph Galiwango - Started Guiding in 1999 on a part time basis with us.  He has worked his way up within the organization to become head guide early in 2006 giving him additional responsibilities.  Joseph successfully completed his Uganda Red Cross Basic first aid course in 2002 and a field guide training course in mid 2005 as well as now having many years of “on the ground” experience with all levels and styles of safaris including camping and Rwenzori Mountain Climbing. Joseph was born in Entebbe and has lived there all his life.  He has two children living with him and his wife.

Robert Ntale -  grew up in Kampala and Kabale district.  He studied  at Nyeikunama Primary School, Bukinda/ Kampala Secondary School and attained a Diploma in Environmental management at Makerere Institute of Environment. His career as a Tour Guide started in Murchison Falls National Park, as a guide for  a lodge where he learnt about wildlife before expanding his knowledge to other areas of Uganda and becoming a free lance safari guide for several different safari companies.
