Ishasha Wilderness Camp is located inside the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park on the Ntungwe River; it is an idyllic retreat for people who truly want to experience the wilderness. This exclusive tented camp offers quality accommodation and services in this unspoilt remote southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National.

Setting: Situated inside the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park on the Ntungwe River
Accommodation & facilities: The ten spacious East African style Meru tents are situated in a wooded area beside the river and are comfortably furnished with its own private en suite bathroom and dressing area providing hot water “bush” showers and an eco friendly toilet.
The central lounge / dining area, provides a comfortable environment for meals and relaxing during the day
The bar has a selection of local and imported beverages and friendly local staff will attend to your needs.
Hot beverages are available throughout the day on a self service basis and are also delivered to your tent with early morning wake up calls as required.
Dining: The outdoor shaded area besides the river offers el fresco dining and an evening “fireplace” for guests.
Local and international cuisine is prepared using fresh local ingredients where possible.
Activities: Combined with excellent game viewing opportunities for buffalo, elephants, kob, topi and other species of antelope, the camp provides the ideal location, for a midway break, between gorilla viewing in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and the other areas of QENP or Kibale Forest. Excursions to the Lake Edward Flats area are possible where large herds of game can be seen as well as birdlife, including the elusive shoebill stork at various times of the year.

Responsible Tourism: As the camp is within the National Park, we have designed it to be as low impact as possible with low usage of water, power and other resources. Solar power is used for lighting with power points limited to a central area allocated for recharging cameras and videos.
