Day 1
Met upon arrival at Kigali airport by yourprivate vehicle and driver/guide and transfer through the land of a thousand hills to the famous Parc National des Volcans. A chance to relax at your lodge, Gorilla's Nest, in the shadow of the dramatic Virunga Volcanoes before your gorilla tracking safari starts in the morning!
Overnight: Gorilla's Nest - a comfortable lodge located in the shadow of the Virunga Volcanoes; chalet type rooms with ensuite bathrooms, electricity and hot and cold running water
Day 2
Your first day of gorilla tracking! An early start to make your way to the park headquarters where you are assigned a ranger and a gorilla group. Tracking the gorillas can take anything from 4-8hrs in lush green, steep, muddy, terrain! It is, however, the experience of a lifetime...coming across these amiable primates in their natural surroundings is quite awe-inspiring as you watch them go about their daily lives, playing, grooming, farting and eating! Return to the lodge later in the afternoon to relax, have a hot shower and reflect on the days activities.

Day 3
A beautiful walk this morning through the stunning foothills of the volcanoes and up to the grave of Dian Fossey and the gorillas with which she worked; a chance also to visit the remains of the Karisoke Research Centre where Dian Fossey worked. If you carry on further up the hillside you come to the meadow where Dian Fossey used to have her mountain hut...a beautiful pasture with views of Bisoke, Karisimbi and Sabinyo peaks.

Day 4
Your second day of gorilla tracking! An early start to make your way to the park headquarters where you are assigned a ranger and a gorilla group. Tracking the gorillas can take anything from 4-8hrs in lush green, steep, muddy, terrain! Day 5
A more relaxing day today as you set off into the forest to track the golden monkeys. Spend an hour with the cheeky golden monkeys and then return to the lodge to relax throughout the afternoon or explore the local area including Lakes Ruhondo and Burera. Later you set off back through the land of a thousand hills to Kigali.
Overnight: Serena Kigali - a comforable 5 star hotel located not far from the city centre
Day 6
This morning you have a chance to visit Kigali and the powerful genocide memorial before transferring to the airport in time for your international flight home.
