A 12 Day Coast to Coast Safari, from £1,850 per person sharing
Day 1
On your arrival into Antananarivo you will be met and transferred to your hotel close to the airport.
Overnight: IC Hotel - a clean and comfortable hotel with good airport access
Day 2
You will be transferred to the airport for a short flight west to Majunga where you will be met and transferred to Ankarafantsika National Park. Depending on your time of arrival you may the chance to go for an afternoon walk.
Overnight: Ampijoroa Reserve Bungalow - clean but simple accommodation overlooking the lake (B/L/D)
Days 3 and 4
You have 2 full days to explore this incredible park which is home to 8 species of lemurs including the Coquerel’s Sifaka and the rare golden-brown mouse lemur. Another highlight of this area is the tortoise sanctuary at Project Angonoka which is a breeding program for the rare ploughshare tortoise and the flat-tailed tortoise.

Day 5
Today you transfer about 2 hours back to Majunga for your short flight back to Antananarivo for the night.

Day 6
This morning after breakfast you start to head east to Andasibe National Park. Opportunities to explore the rain forest with a local wildlife guide. The special reserve of Analamazaotra offers an opportunity to see the largest of Madagascar’s lemurs, the Indri Indri while the 10,000 hectare national park of Mantadia to the north gives views out over the forest and a chance to spot the beautiful diademed sifaka.

Day 7
A day to explore Andasibe/Perinet National Park or Mantadia with your local wildlife guide. A montane forest park offering the chance to spot a variety of lemurs, reptiles and birds. One of its most famous inhabitants is the Indri, Indri - the largest of lemurs with a black and white teddy bear like appearance. You hear the Indri before you see them and waking up to their songs of communication in the early hours of the morning with the mist still hugging the rainforest canopy is a highlight of your trip to the Red Island. Best to leave early morning to be near the Indri when they make their distinctive morning group communication calls. Other lemurs which can be seen here are the red-bellied lemur, brown lemur, lesser bamboo lemur, with nocturnal lemurs - brown mouse lemur, greater dwarf lemur (Sep/Oct - May), Eastern woolly lemur, sportive lemur, aye aye (seen once each year!).

Day 8
From Andasibe you need to transfer back to Tana in time for your north bound flight to Ile Sainte Marie.
This is a fantastic location for some beach relaxation and exploration. Located in a palm grove along a white sandy beach this is the perfect place to relax and reminisce after the last 10 days of adventure.

Days 9, 10, 11
Relax for the next few days in this idyllic setting. A variety of activities are possible including diving (PADI lessons are available), snorkelling, relaxing by the pool. A highlight of your stay here is the opportunity to go whale watching; during the months of June – September hundreds of humpback whales come to this are for breeding. Up to 15m in length this is a spectacular opportunity to experiences these mammals up close and personal as you visit them with the research team and help them to collect vital research data. Breeching whales is an experience not to be missed…!

Day 12
Transfer back to the airport for a short flight back to Antananarivo in time for your international flight back home (B)
