Day 1
Arrival in 
Madagascar and transfer to the Hotel Colbert overnight.

Overnight: Hotel Colbert


Day 2, 3, 4

Drive by 4x4 east to the rain forest reserves of 
Andasibe. Opportunities to explore the rain forest with a local wildlife guide. The special reserve of Analamazaotra offers an opportunity to see the largest of Madagascar’s lemurs, the Indri Indri while the 10,000 hectare national park of Mantadia to the north gives views out over the forest and a chance to spot the beautiful diademed sifaka.

Overnight: Vakona Lodge; A comfortable eco-lodge with 28 bungalows scattered throughout a garden peppered with palm trees and bougainvilleas.


Day 5, 6, 7
Drive back to Tana and catch the internal flight south to Toliara (depending on flight schedules, it may be necessary to return to Tana a day earlier). Meet the 4x4 vehicle at the airport and drive north to the sandstone massif of the Isalo National Park. Two days here to explore the canyons and plateaux of the massif with overnight accommodation at the luxurious Jardin du Roy hotel.

Overnight: Jardin du Roy; A luxury lodge on the edge of Isalo National Park, with 15 deluxe rooms and 9 bungalows.

Day 8, 9

Drive back to Toliara and then north to the beach at Ifaty. Opportunities here to snorkel and dive on the coral reef, to visit the spiny baobab forest or just relax on the beach.
Overnight: Le Paradisier; An exclusive and charming hotel facing the Mozambique Channel. Each bungalow is free standing with a mezzanine level, balcony and en-suite bathroom, there is also a luxury beach front suite.


Day 10

Transfer to the airport for the internal flight back to Tana.
Overnight: Hotel Colbert.

Day 11

Fly north east to the small town of Maroantsetra. Transfer by boat to the Nosy Mangabe reserve. This deserted island reserve is tropical island forest paradise with birds, lemurs and small sandy bays. If you are very lucky you may see the rare Aye Aye lemur found here. 
Overnight: Camping

Day 12

Transfer by boat to the Masoala peninsula, Madagascar’s largest area of rain forest. During four days here you can enjoy the walks through the forest to look out for the many rare birds and lemurs found here, especially the red ruffed lemur which is only found in this reserve. With many waterfalls and good coral reef this is a true wildlife paradise. During trekking all baggage and supplies are ferried by boat, you just have to take your day packs.
Overnight: Permanent safari tented camp.


Day 13

Masoala peninsula. Optional activities include trips out in ocean going kayak, snorkelling over the coral reef or a guided exploration of the primary forest. Alternatively have a lazy day in a hammock under a shady tree in camp.
Overnight: Masoala Forest Lodge; A traditional and luxurious tented Malagasy style lodge.


Day 14

Masoala peninsula. Trek along the shore path about 12 kms with deserted beaches, clear streams and forest.
Overnight: Temporary camp at Antalavia with a traditional Malagasy lunch.


Day 15
Masoala peninsula. Trek 10 kms to the Ankazafotsy river and take the boat back to the Masoala Forest Lodge.
Overnight: Masoala Forest Lodge


Day 16

Transfer by boat back to the town of Maroantsetra where you catch the flight back to Tana
Overnight: Hotel Colbert


Day 17, 18, 19, 20

Fly north to Nosy Be where a boat will be waiting for the transfer to the island of Tsarabanjina. The perfect way to relax at the end of the holiday.
 Tsarabanjina is a small exclusive lodge set on a beautiful island. Options including taking boat trips out to the surrounding islands, snorkelling, diving and fishing trips. 

Overnight: Tsarabanjina Hotel; A private island hotel with 25 spacious thatched bungalows looking out to the turquoise waters beyond.


Day 21

Transfer back to the airport at Nosy Be for the flight to Tana.
