Bush House Lodge is a small eco-lodge located on the shores of one of the freshwater lakes of the Pangalanes Canals in the east of Madagascar. The thatched bungalows all have hammocks to lounge in as you look out over the clear waters of the lake. The traditional Malagasy food is served in the open bar/restaurant area. Transfers to the lodge are done by speed boat through the canals. The en-suite bungalows have a light airy feel to them. This is a perfect place to relax, go canoeing, swim in the clear waters or take a stroll through the sand dunes to the Indian Ocean.

Style: A small eco-lodge with thatched bungalows.
Setting: Located in the East Coast Toamasina region of Madagascar, within the Canal des Pangalanes lake district, where beach lined fresh water lakes merge with the India Ocean.
Accommodation & facilities: The 11 thatched bungalows were built using local materials with simple style handcrafted furnishings, a double bed with mosquito net and private shower/WC. All bungalows have a large terrace with a spectacular view over the clear waters of the lake.
Shower water is heated over a flame in a small water tank behind each bungalow. Electricity is powered by a generator and is available in the morning and evening.
The bar offers a selection of drinks and cocktails and of course the traditional local rum assortment.
Dining: The small outside restaurant at Bush House Lodge, which is sheltered under palm roofing, serves Malagasy, Creole and French food.
Activities: Bush House Lodge is a perfect place to relax and swim in the clear waters or take a stroll through the sand dunes to the Indian Ocean. For the more adventurous, canoes are available and there are some great walks to surrounding lakes and nature reserves. In addition, Ampitabe Lake is the perfect spot for water sports.
Child policy: Children are welcome but no facilities. This property is not suitable for very young children.
