Gabon - Accommodation

Lodging in Gabon varies from comfortable western-style lodges to rustic research camps in the middle of what forms the second largest rainforest in the world. Each in their own way provide perfect bases to maximise our clients wildlife viewing opportunities.

Travellers should remember that Gabon is not historically a tourist destination and therefore one does need to have patience in regards to service levels, etc. Accommodation in each location is clean and comfortable but of a more basic standard when compared to the well established lodges of East Africa.

Loango Lodge

Loango Lodge offers uninterrupted views over the river and surrounding national park which is home to an abundance of wildlife. Satellite camps dotted throughout the park offer different locations for wildlife viewing including whale watching, spotting forest elephants and in the correct season mammals on the beach!

Langoue Bai Camp

Langoue Bai Camp is a basic research camp located in Ivindo National Park which also offers accommodation to clients of World Primate Safaris. Accommodation at present is basic and only for the hardy African traveller but the wildlife and sheer wilderness of this untouched Eden is definitely worth it. Access to the camp is an exciting 3 hrs walk through the rainforest.

Lope Hotel

Lope Hotel in Lope National Park is a welcome luxury for the traveller. Wooden bungalows with ensuite facilities and air conditioning provide a perfect place to explore the surrounding savannah and forests. The swimming pool located on the banks of the dramatic Offoue River offers the opportunity to cool off at the end of the day.
