Jungles and Beaches of Costa Rica

Day 1
Today you arrive in San Jose, where you will be met by one of our local representatives and transferred to your hotel for your overnight stay.Wild Butterflies in Costa Rica
Overnight: Grano de Oro (Deluxe Room) – Located in downtown San Jose, this boutique hotel is well located for the nearby attractions in the city.

Day 2
This morning you will be met and driven to Tortuguero National park, located in the north-east of the country on the Caribbean coast.  The Tortuguero national park features a number of canals, which contain a variety of wildlife, such as Manatees, as well as Crocodiles, Caiman and Tropical Gar.  The park is also renowned for the Turtles which nest on the beaches, while the surrounding forest is home to a number of primate species.
Overnight: Mawamba Lodge - Surrounded by beautiful gardens and situated on a sand bar between the Tortuguero canals and the Caribbean Sea, Mawamba lodge has 54 Standard rooms and four Superior rooms, specially designed for Honeymoons. Rooms are simple but comfortable and include a ceiling fan (B/D)

Day 3
Today you will explore Tortuguero National Park.  This area is home to a whole variety of wildlife species and the excursions which you can arrange when you are at the lodge and are included in the cost, will help you to enjoy and experience the area.

Day 4
This morning you will be transferred to the Airstrip for your flight back to San Jose.  Upon arrival you will be met and driven to your hotel in Manuel Antonio National Park, a journey of around 3 hours.  The rest of the day is yours to spend at leisure.

Days 5 & 6
You have two days to enjoy Manuel Antonio National Park.  This is the only national park in Costa Rica where it is possible to see all four endemic species of primate and you will be able to arrange a visit to the national park locally.  The national park also has some pristine beaches, where you may choose to spend your time relaxing.

Day 7
After breakfast, you will be met and taken to the airstrip in Quepos, for your short flight to Palmar Sur, on the Osa Peninsula.  From here you will be met and transferred to your hotel and the rest of your day will be spent at your own leisure.
Overnight: Casa Corcovado - This unique lodge offers accommodations constructed with the highest concern for conservation in harmony with the landscape and the environment. The Lodge is supplied with mountain spring water, and is surrounded by virgin rain forest. Electricity is provided 24 hours a day by hydroelectric and solar systems. (B/L/D)

Days 8 & 9
The lodge offers a number of shared excursions within Corcovado National Park and its surroundings.  You are free to choose which excursions you take when you arrive at the lodge, many of which are included in the cost of your stay.  National Geographic has referred to Corcovado as, “the most biologically intense place on earth” and it is the last remaining piece of sustainable forest of its type left in Central America.

Day 10
Transfer back to Palmar Sur, for your flight back to San José, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Overnight: Grano de Oro (Deluxe Room) (B)

Day 11
This morning, you will visit a Coffee estate close to San José.  The tour takes place on the Doka estateJaguar, Corcovado National Park, Costa Rica, where you can learn about the production, the harvesting and the roasting of the grain. Costa Rica has a large variety of microclimates and altitudes within short distances. This route explains how the different climate factors favor the taste of the coffee.

After this tour, you will be taken to La Paz Waterfall Gardens.  This is an ultimate Costa Rican experience of flowers, butterflies, orchids, hummingbirds, cloud and rainforest, and waterfalls. It is recommended for the visitors to enter the park no later than 3:45 p.m. to ensure that have enough time to walk the primary trails. Typical lunch is included.

After your visit, you will be taken to the Airport in time for your international flight home (B/L)
