Hotel Luna Azul is an intimate and unique boutique hotel, close to the turtle beach of Ostional. The Swiss owners are a Zoologist and Homeopathic Doctor and are there to ensure your stay is relaxing and unforgettable.
There are just 7 bungalows, each one individually designed with open showers and large terraces. The facilities here are great and with English, German, French, Italian and Spanish all fluent here, communication is a doddle, you might even learn something new…

Style: An intimate tropical paradise, accommodation is uniquely themed and styled and there is no lack in facilities.
Setting: On the coastal road to Tamarindo, the hotel is in the Guanacaste province. Access from the south is not guaranteed during the rainy season (May – November).
Accommodation & Facilities: There are just 7 bungalows for guests, each designed to be individual and unique. These colourful units are elegantly decorated and feature large showers, big terraces, air conditioning, ceiling fans, a refrigerator and a safe.
The infinity pool and sun terrace are a great way to relax, or head to the tropical cocktail bar or lush gardens in search of birds and monkeys. There is wireless internet available as well as a souvenir shop, Jacuzzi and an ocean view restaurant.
The health centre offers a range of alternative treatments, such as homeopathy, reiki, medical massages and Californian flowers. You can even join a 3 day course in Japanese Reiki; helping you to learn how to relax.
Dining: Breakfast is included and the restaurant serves lunch and gourmet dinners featuring fresh seafood and meat fondues. The hotel often does special themed dinners to get your creative juices flowing.
Activities: Hotel Luna Azul offers romantic and adventure packages, where you can ride horseback through the forests and rivers to the beach, explore the canopy, the mangroves of even venture out on your own in a 4x4 vehicle. 1km away you will find the turtle refuse of Playa Ostional where it is possible to see turtles laying their eggs all year round. During the rainy season, they do this on mass, called “arribada”, and you can see thousands of females laying there eggs. 50 days after this the eggs hatch and you can witness thousands of baby turtles! Guided tours are organised for this, you can admire these incredible animals and even swim with them as the dolphins look on. Other activities available are bird watching, surfing (there is excellent surf at Playa Guiones – about 25km away), deep sea fishing and zip line tours.
