Style: A large luxury hotel in a beautiful colonial hacienda, featuring some unique and original architecture.
Setting: Within a 30 acres coffee plantation, the hotel is just 15 minutes from downtown San Jose and just 10 minutes from Escazu and Santa Ana.
Accommodation & Facilities: Rooms and suites are well decorated using elegant furnishings and twists of colour. Sumptuous own brand bedding is supplied with designer duvets for a relaxing nights sleep, as well as cable TV, a safe, mini bar and coffee maker. Rooms are available with either a poolside or skyline view as a king or double and the Presidential suite, on the top floor, has a wonderful whirlpool. The better the room, the more you get; some have separated living areas, others have executive lounge access with ‘special benefits’, such as complimentary food and an honour bar. There are a range of restaurants on the premises, as well as bars, a coffee house and an exotic cocktail lounge featuring live music. La Isabela Tapas and Wine Cellar does exactly what it says on the tin and Antigua is a more casual restaurant and Bar with Latin American cuisine. The Casa del Café (coffee house), as well as coffee, serves light meals for lunch and breakfast, as well as a substantial dinner. La Castilla serves exotic cocktails in a lobby bar environment to the rhythm of live music. There are plenty of restaurants in the local area too…
Activities: In the local area there are nature preserve trails, river rafting, horseback riding and hiking. There is also bowling, squash and golf more the more sport inclined.
