Congo Lodges and Eco-Lodges

Accommodation in the Congo, Cameroon and the Central African Republic is a lot more basic than you will find throughout other regions of Africa, such as Kenya or Tanzania. Providing a more authentic, adventurous and rustic experience. Usually consisting of small lodges or camps, they are generally remote and accessed by 4x4 or a local pirogue.

There is a focus on Sustainable tourism and wildlife here, not luxury, but the camps and lodges are comfortable and relaxing after a hard day tracking Western Lowland Gorillas, searching for the elusive Forest Elephants or joining a local net hunt!

We have listed a few of the lodges and camps below. Please contact us for more details, quotes or if you are interested in any other lodge in particular. Trips to these regions of Africa are usually done via one of our small group safaris.

Doli Lodge provides great access to Dzangha National Park. Doli Lodge is basic but clean and comfortable and is incorporated into our safaris.

Doli Lodge

Doli Lodge is constructed on the banks of the River Dzanga. Constructed of wooden bungalows with fans, bathrooms and river views from your terrace. This is a great place to track the Lowland Gorillas and meet the Forest Elephants!

Mbeli Bai Camp is located on Mbeli Island 45 minutes walk from Mbeli Bai. A cosy but basic camp providing access to some amazing wildlife viewing.

Mbeli Bai Camp provides access to the stunning Mbeli Bai. Basic but comfortable and a great base from which to observe forest elephants and lowland gorillas from the mirador...The camp is accessed by a 4x4 vehicle and local pirogue.

Sangha Lodge provides great access to Dzangha National Park where you can track the Western Lowland Gorillas. It is basic, but clean and incorporated into our safaris.

Sangha Lodge

On the banks of the Sangha River in the Dzanga-Sangha Special Reserve, the lodge is basic but comfortable with a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere. There is good access to Dzanga National Park from here to track the Western Lowland Gorillas and to Dzanga Bai to find Forest Elephants!
