The Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort is approximately 30 minutes drive from Kota Kinabalu; this is a great place to recuperate after arriving in Borneo. The Garden Wing offers 330 rooms and suites. All ground floor rooms have private lanais accessible through gardens while all the upper floor rooms offer private balconies with views of the lush landscape and sea, and have a two-level layout with daybed, creating an ensuite feel. The Ocean Wing rooms come with a private outdoor bathtub on each balcony with sweeping views of the sea.  Guests staying in the Ocean Wing have the exclusive use of its own private swimming pool.

Rooms are decorated in typical Malaysian style, with soft earth tones and intricately carved panels.

At the beach, enjoy the refreshing beverages and light snacks at the beachside Sampan Bar. In the evening, the Lobby Lounge is a popular spot for a drink before or after dinner while being entertained by our resident musicians

Dining: Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort offers diners a range of enticing restaurants,  from popular Malaysian and Asian fare to traditional cooking from Northern India and Goa, as well as contemporary western cuisine.

Activities: The resort has its own Nature Reserve with an Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre, the only one of its kind in the region, offering  a tantalising glimpse into Borneo's tropical forests.

There is an 18-hole golf course nearby which also offers many indulgent treatments at the adjacent spa.

Watersports (at additional fee)  include Banana Boat Rides, Kayaking, Jet Skiing, Parasailing, River Excursions, Water Skiing, Windsurfing and Lepa-Lepa (traditional wooden boat) charter.

The state-of-the-art Health Club offers cardiovascular equipment including treadmills, crosstrainers, step machines, rowing machines and stationary bicycles.
