Style: A simple, yet charming rustic lodge in a picturesque national park setting.
Setting: Domaine Nature is nestled between primary forests and waterfalls in a picturesque setting overlooking Ranomafana National Park
Accommodation & facilities: The main lodge at Domaine Nature houses the bar and restaurant, from here winding stone steps and wooden pathways lead to the rooms.
There are 20 rustic chalets built amongst the lush forest, ten of which lie below the road, and eight above. It is a short walk from the upper chalets down to the restaurant in the evenings, but these rooms do have wonderful views over the rainforest.
The rooms themselves are pretty simple, but have everything you need, and the wooden ceilings and floors and the thatched roofs make them feel very cosy.
There are 14 standard chalets with double or twin beds, mosquito nets, and en suite bathrooms. Each of the standard rooms also has an extra bed and a small balcony. There are also four mini-suites, which are slightly larger. All of these rooms have double beds, with a television and mini bar, and huge windows that open out onto the veranda.
The style of the accommodation is inspired by typical houses of the area and they are constructed from natural materials such as reed, wood and thatch, blending harmoniously with the surrounding nature.
Facilities include a bar and snack bar.
Dining: The subtle cuisine blends the flavours of Madagascar with cooking from around the world and is created using mainly local ingredients and freshly picked vegetables from the kitchen garden.
Activities: Most guests use Domaine Nature as a base for a couple of days to visit to the national park, but it is also possible to visit the village. There is a small natural swimming pool at the bottom of the hill.
Child policy: Children of all ages welcome
