Shaun Stanley

Director of Sales

Having grown up in Africa, Shaun was lucky enough to spend his childhood travelling throughout Southern Africa. His passion for wildlife led him to become a qualified safari guide in Zimbabwe and Zambia before he moved to the UK.  Shaun has travelled extensively to over fifty countries in South America, Asia, Europe, Canada and Africa.

Not only does Shaun have a strong passion for travel, but he is also a talented photographer and is responsible for many of the impressive shots on our website!

Favorite Destinations: The wildlife of Brazil; watching jaguars playing as we floated down the Cuiaba river in the Pantanal was incredible. The stunning savannah game destinations of Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe are also a strong favourite of mine.

Best Travel Experience: Driving a Land Rover around South, East and Central Africa for 5 months. Camping in Africa is one of the best ways to truly experience and live among this fantastic and wild part of the world. During my trip I was lucky enough to see the migration in the Serenti and track gorillas in Uganda!

Worst Travel Experience: I think I have been pretty lucky in my travels in that I haven’t had anything really bad happen to me. There are a few “small” incidents that stick out like being on a bus in Vietnam with a drunk driver at night going along steep cliff roads, over taking on blind corners and using his gears instead of the brakes, to slow down…but I survived that. Also in Vietnam I had to have 3 stitches in the back of my head after a beach volley ball incident! In Columbia I spent 5 nights sleeping in a hammock in the middle of the Amazon being bitten by insects constantly – nowhere was safe, even under the mosquito net after applying layers and layers of insect repellent, they still managed to find part of me to feast on! This was an amazing experience now that I look back at it, but when I was there I just wanted to get out! In Peru I was scammed whilst changing money on the black market – the guy counted the money in front of me, but still managed to slip out 10 Soles! Okay so it’s not a huge amount of money, but being a seasoned traveler it was pretty embarrassing!
