Will Bolsover
Owner, Managing Director & Safari Expert
Will Bolsover has over ten years of experience working in Africa managing a variety of projects with local communities and leading trekking tours throughout the continent, including Morocco, Madagascar, Ghana, Gabon and Sao Tome.
Having set up the first gorilla tracking tours in Gabon 4 years ago, Will has also worked in the gorilla parks of Uganda and Rwanda, guided in the Republic of Congo and the Central African Republic, ventured into the Eastern Lowland Gorilla and Mountain Gorilla parks of the Democratic Republic of Congo and tracked the chimpanzees of Tanzania in Mahale and Gombe. Having travelled and worked extensively in over 15 countries throughout Africa, Will offers that first hand experience and advice that is essential in tailoring the ultimate safari experience.
As a result of the knowledge and experience that Will has gained over the years he decided to set up World Primate Safaris with the aim of providing a specialist primate orientated safaris service, something that up until now has not existed in the safari world. Benefiting from Will's past experiences, World Primate Safaris offers specialist primate safaris that combine the unique fauna, flora and cultural aspects of your destination of choice whilst at the same time contributing to the continued survival of the intriguing Primates!
Favourite Destinations: My Favourite destinations have to be Congo/CAR for its sheer remoteness, Madagascar for its bizarre, wonderful wildlife, friendly people and diversity and Botswana for just some amazing wildlife and opulent luxury safari lodges!
Best Travel Experience: Best Travel Experience…that’s a hard one…even though I hate heights, a sunrise balloon safari over the Masai Mara of Kenya is definitely up there as you float across the African plains….but then again a not quite so quiet “doors off” helicopter flight with my wife over the Okavango Delta was pretty awesome as we got a taste of the National Geographic filming lifestyle…or maybe when I was a guide in the wonderful Madagascar and exploring pristine patches of rainforest and enjoying pristine beaches…yes it is a tough job!
Worst Travel Experience: I think this possibly has to be at the start of a long haul flight when I was seated in a middle seat between a rather over excited 16 yr old girl and a particularly large American Preacher. They decided for the first hour of the flight to have an animated conversation directly across me…when they eventually calmed down and the preacher went to sleep I could finally relax - or so I thought, 20 minutes later the Preacher woke suddenly and vomited all over my leg and fleece which I had stupidly left on the floor. He then went back to sleep not even realising that he had thrown up. Yes…I asked to be moved.
