Bill Bolsover, CBE
Chairman
Bill began a career in construction in 1970 working in the mines in Australia and the Koolan Islands before joining Tarmac in 1974. He became Managing Director and was responsible for developing the business; through major strategic
reviews he restructured the operations and management team in 1992. then as Group Executive Director he headed up the Quarry Products and Topmix divisions, as well as demerging the Buildings Materials business.
He became the Managing Director of Aggregate Industries UK and the European operations in 2000; he was then promoted to Group Chief Executive in 2006 and Non Executive Chairman on the 1st of April 2010.
Bill is not only the Chairman of both World Primate Safaris and Aggregate Industries, but also a Lt Colonel of the Royal Engineer and Logistic Staff Corps RE(v), member of the Institute of Royal Engineers, Chairman of the Construction Products Association, Vice-president of the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts and a trustee of the UK Green Building Council. On top of this he is also a member of the Worshipful Company of Paviors a Freeman of the City of London and a Fellow of the Royal Society of the encouragement of Arts!
He was awarded with an honorary Doctor of Laws from the University of Leicester in 2009.
In 2011 he was made Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) on the New Years Honours List for services in the Construction Industry.
As the Chairman of Primate Safaris he offers advice on various aspects of the business including the American market and as the Chairman of Aggregate Industries, Bill is responsible for both the UK and US operations. He is also an Area Manager with Holcim having global responsibility for the Aggregates and Construction Materials group.
As you can imagine, Bill is a very busy man, but he is always around for business advice and support for the company.
